When I'm at a complete stop when my foot is on brake it feels like car is jerking forward. I had my brakes checked a month ago and they said I needed brake fluid and that was it.
When driving the vehicle feels like has no umph in it. This may be related to a dirty of failing idle air control valve. This is a unit that monitors the air intake into the motor as it is mixed with fuel prior to being injected into the motor.
When this is not working properly, this may cause an unbalanced load of fuel to be injected into the motor resulting in a fluctuating idle. When this not working properly, you may notice an erratic idle which may cause the vehicle to lurch forward when sitting at a stop light as you describe. I would recommend having a professional from YourMechanic come to your location to diagnose and inspect your vehicle. Q: Car jerking forward when stopped.

Hes probably serious. I ran into some place yesterday to see what theyd charge me I didnt want to have to come home and take a day ff of work, so I was hoping I could get them done there instead of coming back home. They quoted me for brakes and rotors. I am pretty sure that HAD to have included new rotors as well.I have a Prius with miles on it.
In the year I have had it, I have had this problem a few times. On rare occasions while I am braking the car seems to lurch forward. In particular I have noticed it while braking and hitting a bump. The problem is that when this happens the car seems to jump forward while the brakes are being applied. My foot is on the brake when it happens, but I am not braking suddenly. That rules out any anti-lock braking.
I have had the dealer look at it but since it didn't happen on their test drive they couldn't figure anything out. They did open a case on it in case anything comes up. Has anyone else had a similar problem? Simonak Member. Toyota say this is normal.
I have and have the same thing happening too but I'm not sure if it is just as Toyota say normal regenerative breaking when hitting a hole or bump. Yes, because toyota has no idea how to fix it, they call it normal Sabby Active Member. The sequence is likely that you are in regenerative braking mode. The bump causes a loss of traction and the abs is activated.
Q: Car jerking forward when stopped.
Since the regenerative braking can't be pulsed there is a switch over to friction braking that can be pulsed. The moment of the transition feels like no brakes. If it happens push a bit harder on the brake to get the friction brake activated. Register or Log In now! I noticed a few days ago that when I brake and come to a complete stop, towards the end of the braking right before I stop completely the car lurches forward a little bit.
Then a day later it stopped and then yesterday it started back up again. It feels like my brakes are lettting up for a split second. Anyone know what could cause this? Any help would be much appreciated. O yeah and if this helps when I bought the car last year I had it checked out and they said that the brakes were fairly new so I dont know what to think? My Photo Gallery: What should I do. Go get it checked out?
How much do you think this will cost? Also why do you think it went away for a day or two and then came back? Thanks for your help.
Bookmarks Bookmarks Digg del.But Hyundai forgot to tell you about one key phrase — zero-move. That's right, an alarming number of owners have said their SUV wouldn't accelerate after a stop.Drakensang bonus code
Turns out that's because the transmission's application logic has been stumbling all over itself. Hyundai recalled the issue in Septemberbut it's difficult to say if owners are out-of-the-woods, or if this is just a sign of things to come.
I bought the Tucson new and experienced acceleration problems almost immediately, but they got worse after 10, miles or so. When I step on the accelerator from a complete stop, there is a 'lurch' when the car begins to move after a hesitation. Several times about 10 the hesitation is longer than 10 seconds and the engine RPMs fly up to with no movement of the vehicle at all!! After breaking out in a cold sweat, I thank God that the guy behind me did not rear end me.

I've mentioned the lurching and hesitation to my dealer several times, but the unpredictability of the issue makes it almost impossible for them to experience it.
My neighbor will not let their 2 year old in this car with me, although they have no problem with me driving her in other cars. I am 78 years old with a perfect driving record and I am the sole caretaker for my 87 year old friend. I cannot afford to buy a new car just because Hyundai put lemons on the road.
The only suggestion I have is to replace the engine with one that has no issues or give me full credit on a trade-in. I purchased 2 Huundais within the last 7 years and cannot recommend them to anyone after my very dangerous experiences. Please help!! PS - I will report each and every time the vehicle lurches at acceleration and this site will be filled unfortunately with my issues.
This problem is an unsafe problem. When driving in slow traffic the hesitation and then jumping forward as you start to move forward with the flow of the traffic could cause a rear end accident. Also it has caused spillage of liquids in the car when people are trying to take a sip of their drink in the car due to the sudden jump forward of the car. I feel this condition could cause a bad accident. Also my wife has arthritis and has had three back surgery and complains of pain when it starts the jerking motions.
She says she hates the car. I find it very irritating when you think you are going to move forward smoothly and it goes into this damn jerking and you have to stop and start over again hoping the next one will be smooth and it's not.
